This ancient oak dining table measures 7′ (2133mm). The top is a little different, it is made by edge joining smaller pieces of timber along the length and clamping two long pieces of oak on each side with a long draw-bore mortice and tenon pegged within. This will ensure the stability of the top and the ability to withstand seasonal movements as well as adding visual character to the piece.
