Ddechrau’r Hâf mi ges i’r pleser o greu cadair siglo mewn arddull craftsman efo Paul Sellers yn ei weithdy yng Nghastell Penrhyn. Mae bob uniad yn y darn – 56 ohonyn nhw, wedi eu gwneud ac offer llaw a mae’r dyluniad wedi ei greu i bara dau oes. At the beginning of summer I had the pleasure of creating a craftsman style rocking chair with Paul Sellers in his workshop at Castell Penrhyn. All the joints are hand made – 56 of them, made with hand tools and traditional methods to a design built to last two ages. Roedd o’n syndod mawr gen i mod i wedi medru creu y fath beth efo dim ond tua 10 twlsyn llaw, a rheiny ar y cyfan yn offer gymharol arferol a hawdd i’w ffeindio. Pan ddechreuais i wneud hyn tua 3 mlynedd yn ôl, doeddwn i ddim callach sut oedd yn llifio mewn llinell syth a petai chi’n dweud adeg honno mai dyna dwi’n neud o ddydd i ddydd rwan yna mi fyswn wedi chwerthin ar eich pen. I was amazed at myself that I could create such a thing with only around 10 hand tools. Tools widely available and nothing too out of the ordinary. When I began doing this around 3 years ago, I was none the wiser how to saw in a straight line and if you’d told me back then that this is what I would be doing from day to day I would have laughed in your face.
